[Frederica-l] "the movie was better than the book"

[Frederica Mathewes-Green]

I am working on a piece for National Review Online on this topic. We're used
to saying "the book is better than the movie," but occasionally a movie
improves on a book, for example by uniting its action and themes more
coherently. I've been asking friends to recommend movies that they think
were better than the book, and wanted to throw the question open to you all.
What movies would you name, that you think were better than the book?
